This post and recipe are strictly for fans of Pizza Hut pizza! And for those who have never once set foot in that pizzeria and have not the faintest idea what I am talking about, the pizza gods were very gracious today, because they sent you to my blog so that I could teach you and tell you what all the fuss is about and how to make, with your own hands, something unearthly close to a real Pizza Hut pizza. ππ
In short, on a global scale this is the largest, most popular and best-known restaurant chain there is. On 2015 figures, Pizza Hut's annual revenue came to about 13 billion dollars, which means the company is number one in the entire world among pizza restaurant chains by annual revenue and sales. Hooray for Pizza Hut! π But despite the fact that today it is a billion-dollar business, Pizza Hut was founded by two American brothers back in 1958, who borrowed 600$ from their mother to start the business and furnished the restaurant itself with second-hand furniture and used equipment. π And what did they cook in their restaurant? Thick-crust pan pizzas (and over time they added a few more things to the menu, but that is not what this is about). π
The first time I tried this pizza my ears practically curled, it was genuinely delicious! π From that moment on thin-crust pizzas held no interest for me at all and I plunged into the search for a pizza base recipe THAT WOULD BE EXACTLY LIKE PIZZA HUT'S. And of course, seek and you shall find π I have been using this recipe for many years now, and my fiancΓ© keeps saying mine beats even the real thing, so I have finally got round to sharing it with you as well. This pizza really isn't for everyone β it is rich (just the way I like it ππ), thick and veeeeery filling; there is so much on it that you certainly won't be reaching for a dip.
