My house doesn't often smell of pancakes, but when it does, it really does. 😂 And these Nutella-stuffed pancakes illustrate that perfectly!
I don't know whether it is just me, but often, wandering round the shop and caught by an impulse, I drop a jar of Nutella into my basket without even noticing, subconsciously hoping that „I'll make something delicious, and if not, I'll use it up making some kind of filling”. Of course, that never happens. After a few spoonfuls dug straight out of the jar, the Nutella settles somewhere deep in the fridge and waits patiently until I need it again.
And today I have found a wonderful use for Nutella, one that will delight the stomach of every chocolate lover out there! These are American pancakes, and they are perfect for those days when you want something extra. In short – turbocharged American pancakes with a Nutella filling.
Wait, wait.. Not so fast! The best part is that these pancakes aren't simply spread with Nutella, they are STUFFED with it!
A few years ago I already had a go at Nutella-stuffed pancakes and learned that trying to spoon Nutella into a pancake as it cooks – bad idea. Everything slides, runs and makes a mess. Not a great experience. BUT! Hooray, hooray, I have a brilliant solution for all you sweet tooths. All you need to do is prepare the Nutella discs in advance and freeze them, then, once the batter is in the pan, simply drop in a disc and cover it with a couple more spoonfuls of batter. Voilà! A few minutes later and there on your table are steaming, catalogue-worthy American pancakes stuffed with Nutella.
No mess, no stress, no failures.😉
