The wind… Some strange wind tangled my hair as I walked down the street yesterday, and in that moment I understood why it had felt so strange… This is no longer that summery breeze that ruffled my hair in June, inviting me to enjoy every day of a summer that was only just getting going; nor is it that warm July wind that playfully tugged at the hem of my dress in midsummer. This was simply a gust… A gust of cold, damp wind, blowing dust into my eyes without a shred of mercy and reminding me that summer already has one foot out of our yard. And it was right… I looked at the calendar and caught myself at once – autumn is only a few days away!🍂🍁 And I must, I simply MUST see those last few days out properly and go into September with a clear conscience.📚

And so Kevin and I are already on our way to a completely different corner of Lithuania, together with an enormous group of friends and baskets full of all sorts of good things, off to see summer out with an 18-kilometre kayak trip. 🚣🏽 Sounds lovely, doesn't it? But the day before, things were not lovely at all. 😁 That same hair the wind had been ruffling not long ago I was now tearing out of my own head, thinking at the very last second about what quick, robust food I could possibly prepare. It had to survive the whole journey, the paddling and one extra day on top. The verdict – everything I had made ended up as mush, and that was when I promised myself that when I got back I would come up with something delicious that could stand up to extreme conditions and still be very, very yum 😄
Ta-da! The best egg salad of all time is here before you! Of course, all that greatness is simply a matter of taste, but having tried a LOT of egg salad recipes I can confidently say that this one was the very best for my taste buds! 🍽 We ate it every which way – with bread, alongside a main course, and on its own. Superb! Do give it a go!🍴
